Betsy Streeter
Sat, Jun 26, 2010, 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM
Featured Class: How to Make a Graphic Novel or Illustrated Book
Location: Corte Madera

Special summer class for kids & young adults!
In any graphic novel, comic or animation, a lot happens before the final page or frame is created. In this workshop, we learn about many techniques you can use to create a terrific visual story:

Sketching, thumbnails and layout
Character development
Setting and point of view, perspective
Dialogue and narration

Teaching Artist Betsy Streeter, a longtime professional cartoonist/illustrator and animator, will create a sample project using the group's ideas and then work with individual students on their own projects. Each student will have the opportunity to try multiple techniques on paper, starting with roughs and working toward a more final layout. Betsy will encourage artists to sketch, scribble, and try out ideas while helping them produce artwork that tells their story.Recommended for 9-14 year olds.
