We were taking stencils, and putting paper on top of them, and rubbing crayons over the top.
This can be a lot easier than tracing the stencils, and you get a cool kind of tie-dyed effect - especially if you then move the stencil a little, pick a different color, and do the rubbing again.
Anyhow, we had been doing this for a while, when one of the kids blurted out,
"Woa, coooool!
How did I do that?"
I just thought that was a fabulous quote. She had no idea what she was trying to do, but she was delighted with the result.
Only a person who was totally involved in a process could say something like, "How did I do that?"
Do you ever say that to yourself?
