Every piece of music, or art, or writing that you see in your daily travels originated somewhere, probably as an idea in someone's head or a doodle or a snippet of music or a lyric. It's really a very personal process, most of the time. Putting your creative self out there is taking a risk.One of those risks is having your really successful song turned into background music for when people are picking out shredded mozzarella cheese or frozen pizza.
I think about this every time I go to the grocery store. On the one hand, shoot, your song is so well-known that it's literally everywhere. On the other hand, it's gotta be painful to hear your ballad done in one of those soft grocery-store-music flute arrangements. Ouch.
